Project Overview
In 2019, Qinyang Hongyu Paper Machinery successfully completed the supply, installation, and commissioning of a 4600mm Fourdrinier paper machine for a paper mill in Dandong, China.
The production line is designed to manufacture high-strength fluting paper using 100% recycled OCC (Old Corrugated Containers).
With a design speed of 450 m/min and an operating speed of 330–410 m/min, the machine achieves a stable production capacity of approximately 300–330 tons per day.

Stock Approach System: Hydraulic air-cushion headbox with stock cleaning and screening equipment for uniform pulp distribution.
Forming Section: Single-wire Fourdrinier forming section with ceramic dewatering elements and vacuum boxes.
Press Section: Two-stage combined press system, achieving approximately 42–44% sheet dryness.
Dryer Section: 1800mm cast iron dryer cylinders with condensate removal and recovery systems.
Calender & Reeling: Two-roll hard calender and automatic reel system for consistent paper quality and efficient roll changes.
Drive System: Independent AC variable-frequency drives for stable speed control.
Project Results
Since commissioning in 2019, the production line has demonstrated stable industrial operation, producing approximately 300–330 tons of high-strength fluting paper per day.
The project demonstrates the suitability of Fourdrinier paper machine technology for producing packaging paper from 100% recycled OCC.
